Watch CNN's Chris Cuomo Accidentally Prove Trump Right About Overheard Phone Call”

Trump, in real-time, tweeted his skepticism.

In a hilarious footnote to Schiff impeachment theater, CNN's Chris "Fredo" Cuomo conducted an on-air experiment to disprove President Trump's doubt about the (brief) overheard phone call that somehow resulted in the 40-minute lecture on Ukraine policy by State Department officer David Holmes. "Can you just say hello?"

"Mom. She probably can't hear me, " Cuomo told Bash, quickly turning his phone on speaker.

An incredulous Trump tweeted during the hearing that, although he himself has great hearing, he has never been able to understand a conversation between two people when the phone had not been on speaker mode.

"She does constantly tell people I'm a mistake", Cuomo, for some reason, chose to add of his mom before the panel mercifully moved on. He then seemed to take her off speakerphone, and more awkward dead air set in as she couldn't be heard anymore.

Cuomo's entire segment proved Trump's point that it is hard to overhear a call when it's not on speakerphone.

So Cuomo chose to do just that by calling his mom live on the air to see if Dana Bash, who was sitting to his right, could hear her.

The "Cuomo Prime Time" namesake then turned off speakerphone and could no longer hear his mother - just as Trump explained is typically the case.

Another panelist was quick to add, "I can't hear your mother, Chris".

"So if I were holding the phone here, I'm with Dana Bash, you know how you're always telling me to let her talk because she's so smart and I shouldn't say so much?"

The CNN host is the younger brother of Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic governor of NY.

Earlier this year, CNN's Jim Acosta was also mocked when a stunt backfired after he posted a video that was meant to downplay Trump's claims of a border crisis - but ended up supporting the president's argument that border barriers improve security. "But as we're walking along here, we're not seeing any kind of imminent danger". Thank you CNN, for this wonderful reporting.
