US Professor Apologises For Mentioning Trump's Son At Impeachment Hearing”

A PBS reporter with a history of animus towards President Donald Trump claimed that Republicans were "seizing" on the comment Stanford University law professor Pamela Karlan made about the president's youngest son.

Law professor Pamela Karlan gave an analogy referring to Barron Trump in testimony to congressional representatives to a House of Representatives judiciary committee, which is examining whether Donald Trump's actions legally qualify as "high crimes and misdemeanours" punishable by impeachment under the US Constitution.

Sunny Hostin agreed with Huntsman, saying that Karlan's comments were "so ill-advised and quite frankly, just dumb for a constitutional scholar during a very important hearing - an impeachment hearing - to make a joke about the president's son".

Karlan had told lawmakers during the hearing: "While the president can name his son Barron, he can't make him a baron".

Melania Trump slammed Professor for involving her 13-year-old son during the impeachment proceedings.

The First Lady of America said in her tweet, "Any minor deserves privacy rights and should be excluded from politics". "I wish the president would apologise, obviously, for the things that he's done that's wrong, but I do regret having said that".

The committee could soon recommend articles of impeachment against Trump, setting up a possible vote by the full House before Christmas, followed by a Senate trial in January.

For years, members of both political parties have agreed that the minor children of United States politicians, particularly presidents, are off limits. It makes you look insignificant.

Huntsman added that Democrats have been persevering with to harm their case towards Trump by permitting witnesses like Karlan to make feedback that dominated the information cycle.

"Prof Karlan uses a teenage boy who has nothing to do with this joke of a hearing (and deserves privacy) as a punchline".

Other reporters took to Twitter to criticize people for their criticism of Karlan's remarks. She was declared "not here for the GOP shenanigans" and someone who "has turned this hearing room into a classroom". "What is being done to this country is no laughing matter", Grisham said.

"I walked past what used to be the old post office building and is now the Trump hotel, which I had to cross the street, of course", said Karlan.

"Unless you're really good on TV or watching the hearings over the last couple of weeks, you couldn't have possibly, actually digested the Adam Schiff report from yesterday or the Republican response in any real way", Collins said. Democrats should be ashamed.
