Final Fantasy VII Remake is PS4 timed exclusive until March 3, 2021

Final Fantasy VII Remake is PS4 timed exclusive until March 3, 2021”

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will only be stuck on PS4 for a year after it launches, the box art has revealed.

Today Square Enix released a new trailer to advenrtise the release of an vinyl soundtrack dedicated to the Final Fantasy VII Remake and the original Final Fantasy VII. By 2021 both Microsoft and PlayStation would have released their next-generation consoles, though.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is due out for PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020. "We have no plans for other platforms", a spokesperson said at the time. We could even see mods released for FF7R on Steam to massively extend playtime, similar to FFXV. Disappointing sales of key IPs like Tomb Raider and Just Cause have pushed Square Enix to embrace a big multi-platform approach with its biggest games.

Final Fantasy fans have been clamouring for a remake of FFVII for years.

Plus there's the episodic approach to consider. Ultimately this was an error, as it had the same release date as the PS4 version. Sony isn't expected to end PS4 support until 2023 or thereabouts.

You've already waited this long, what's one more year?
