BJP MP targets Microsoft CEO: Literate needs to be educated”

Microsoft's global CEO Satya Nadella issued a more nuanced statement on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. I feel, and and in fact quite frankly, now being informed shaped by the two incredible American things that I've observed which is both, it's technology reaching me where I was growing up and its immigration policy and even a story like mine being possible in a country like this.

"Sameer Hashmi (@sameerhashmi) tweeted, "'I think what is happening is sad' - #MicrosoftCEO -@satyanadella expresses his opinion about India's new Citizenship Act.

According to a BuzzFeed report, Satya Nadella said he would love to see a Bangladeshi immigrant create the next unicorn in India or even become the CEO of Infosys. "I think it's just bad", Nadella told BuzzFeed at a Microsoft event in Manhattan; Market regulator SEBI has extended the deadline given to companies to separate the roles of chairman and managing director by two years till April 2022; German engineering group Siemens said it would fulfil its contractual obligations to a controversial coal mining project in Australia's outback, attracting criticism from environmental groups on Monday. "Flawless example", Lekhi said on Twitter in response, and also posted Nadella's statement issued by Microsoft India".

Later, Microsoft India issued a statement on behalf of Nadella.

Reacting to Nadella's statement, Guha said, "I am glad Satya Nadella has said what he has". Nadella found support from noted historian Ramachandra Guha, who was detained last month while participating in a CAA protest in Bengaluru.

"And in democracies, that is something that the people and their governments will debate and define within those bounds", Nadella said. I wish that one of our own IT czars had the courage and wisdom to say this first. While critics claim that the law discriminates on the basis of religion, those linked to the ruling BJP maintain that those protesting it are being misled by Left parties and the Congress.

The citizenship law, which came into effect from January 10, makes Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian illegal migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, eligible for citizenship in India.
