According to CBS's formal information of this show, it's " a deep diving to the untold private tale of Clarice Starling as she comes back into the industry to go after serial murderers and intimate predators while navigating the large stakes governmental realm of Washington, D.C". CBS set it up for a show to be followed by Clarice Starling of Silence of the Lambs.

Both films are based on Thomas Harris novels and Starling's relationship with the psychiatrist-serial killer Hannibal Lecter.

Alex Kurtzman, best known for being the executive behind the reboot of the Star Trek franchise and writer of movies like Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, Mission: Impossible III and The Mummy, will make the show, with production partner Jenny Lumet.

The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 psychological thriller adapted from a novel of the same name.
