Fury vows to knock out Wilder in Las Vegas heavyweight rematch

Fury vows to knock out Wilder in Las Vegas heavyweight rematch”

BT Sport have won a massive bidding war against Sky for the United Kingdom television rights to Fury's world heavyweight championship rematch with Wilder.

Wilder, the WBC champion, and Fury, the lineal titleholder, came face to face Monday at The Novo by Microsoft at L.A. Live during a press conference for their highly anticipated rematch February 22 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The two fighters faced off before and after Monday's press conference before exchanging a handshake. "I'm going to knock him out", Wilder said. I keep having the same dream about Round 2. I know I need to get a knockout here. I told him he was going to go, 'Timber!' And he did just that. "I won't run", he continued. If I wasn't looking for a knockout I would have kept hold of Davison. Just watch out for the right hand because you're going to sleep in two rounds. Two! He's getting knocked out in two rounds. That's what I'm looking for.

The bold prediction elicited a chuckle from Wilder, who is considered by many to be the hardest hitter in boxing history. But I don't believe anything he says. "But the magic of it all is the belief". I'm going into this fight knowing I can't win a decision. The fight's most memorable moment was Fury's stunning rise from a 12th-round knockdown that had left him flat on his back.

"It's not an act, it's something I do every time I'm out. And it won't be no different this time around". He gets you to sit down on that big right hand.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported that Deontay Wilder was conferred with the boxing Ambassador of Peace title by Pope Francis after both met and shared some attractive discussions on sports in Rome. "That not only affects you but it affects your environment and your family as well". And you know what he's capable of doing. Then in November, he scored another viral knockout, this time in the seventh round against Luis Ortiz, in a rematch of their March 2018 bout that Wilder won via 10th-round stoppage.

Deontay Wilder knocks Tyson Fury down during their first heavyweight bout.

Ahead of their rematch, Wilder and Fury have been at verbal loggerhead with the Bronze Bomber boasting of his superior power. It's been fantastic for me because it's been a quick turnaround.

"I don't know if any of that even matters on the night". I didn't come here again to get a bad decision. I like to say I put shape on top of shape. "I feel like he's nervous because of what happened the first time". "That's exactly what I'm going to do".

And what will be the result?

"This is the 1st training camp where I'm going to bed early at 9.30 every night and I wake up every morning at 7 am, fresh as a daisy". "Rising up is part of the baptism".

"To beat Tyson Fury, you have to nail him to the canvas". This time around, it's called unfinished business. He won't be able to get back up.
