Twitter will probably never launch edit button, says boss Jack Dorsey”

By letting customers edit their Tweets, stated Dorsey, others may inadvertently unfold impulsively converting incorrect information or evaluations they don't trust.

Last week, The Verge detailed a potential new Twitter feature meant to let users specifically set who can reply to their updates, using four options: global, group, panel and statement.

"We'll probably never do it".

Jack Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter way back in 2006, confirmed as much in a Q&A video interview with Wired in which he answered users' questions about the service.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in an interview with an worldwide media outlet revealed his eccentric food habits and said that he eats seven meals in a week, just dinner. We wanted to preserve that vibe and that feeling from the early days'.

Dorsey affirms that the lack of an edit button is essential to the platform because it allows users to reply to tweets without fear that the original will later be altered.

There are a number of reasons why the publishing of tweets be the cause of complications. This renders the retweet inaccurate, Dorsey noted. Twitter never bulged. And according to CEO Jack Dorsey, we really should not hope anymore. A small delay before the tweet actually goes out seems like a decent compromise for typos and the like. We've considered a one-minute window or 30-second window to correct something. There will never be an edit button on Twitter.

Dorsey doesn't rule it out completely, of course. If you didn't know already we learn why tweets have a limited set of characters, that you can extend that limit endlessly using threads, and Dorsey sarcastically responds to the idea of a dislike button by stating he'll get the team on it.
