Trump and Thunberg clash over climate at World Economic Forum”

Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg attends the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos, Mr Mnuchin said the deal was "an absolute priority" for President Donald Trump.

Over the past year, Thunberg has taken issue with many aspects of US policy, not least President Donald Trump's decision to pull the country out of the Paris accord to limit global warming.

"Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour", she said, according to the Times.

Charles has always been ahead of the crowd when it comes to environmental awareness.

"We have a great case", the president said to reporters gathered at the Davos Congress Center after his motorcade arrived from the Intercontinental Hotel. "I guess of course it means something - they are terrified of young people bringing change which they don't want - but that is just proof that we are actually doing something and that they see us as some kind of threat". "We have to sit together and involve them in dialogue", he said he had told the USA president.

Trump went through a list of what he celebrated as victories for middle class workers and companies, including the first phase of a trade deal with China and the Senate's approval of a new trade agreement with Canada and Mexico. "Our house is still on fire", she said.

"I'm still not used to this", the 17-year-old activist said.

Other leaders sought to draw a middle ground between Trump and Thunberg.

"There's no need to fall into extremes, between those who say either that there is no problem with global warming or those who lament that nothing has been done to combat it, because it's not true - there are things that have been done".

When asked if he still thought climate change was a hoax, Trump responded: "No, not at all". "And that's different than a binary green-good, everything else brown-bad", he said.
