911 outage did not affect Branch County”

According to Michigan State Police, all 911 service throughout the state of Michigan is down right now.

The department says a technical issue occurred during an attempted to update to the 911 system.

Forty counties were affected by the outage, authorities said.

Cass County officials say, it appears everything is working normally, but they're still waiting on the official "all clear".

Dispatchers told anyone in need to call their local non-emergency lines if the 911 lines were not functioning. In Calhoun County please use text to 9-1-1 or 269-781-0912 for emergencies. State police reported this morning that power had been restored.

For now the public safety department will have high visibility patrols throughout the city.

There is now a statewide 911 phone outage, according to Michigan State Police.
