Fox Accused of Scuttling Super Bowl Commercial

Fox Accused of Scuttling Super Bowl Commercial”

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is livid that a pro-Colin Kaepernick ad it wanted to air during Super Bowl LIV will be relegated to social media.

PETA says its commercial also aims to inspire citizens to "reject all forms of injustice, including sexism, ableism, racism, ageism, homophobia, and speciesism".

PETA insists that their ad is meant to "challenge people to expand their concept of injustice to include humans' injustice against other species".

The rapper received immediate backlash since he had been a big supporter of Colin Kaepernick, who sparked a fissure in the league when he made a decision to kneel when the national anthem was played before games to protest the killing of unarmed African-Americans by police and other social inequalities.

The animal rights organization told TMZ Sports it pitched the 60-second ad to FOX last month and received a message December 30 that it was being reviewed.

While Fox executives were in contact with the animal rights group as the network considered the ad, all communication stopped by January 3, they say.

She said that Fox, which is broadcasting the Super Bowl, did not accept the advertisement.

Check out the controversial commercial (below) and let us know what you think. However, according to TMZ, an National Football League source says it's "ultimately up to the network carrying the game, not the National Football League, to approve or reject all ads". Too bad for FOX or should it be aired?
