Weinstein defence suggests rape accuser slept with producer to advance her career”

Since 2017, more than 80 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.

Weinstein, 67, is charged in NY with first-degree rape, two counts of predatory sexual assault, one count of first-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree rape.

She said: "He was screaming, 'You owe me one more time, ' as he was dragging me into the bedroom".

After Rotunno told Mann that during subsequent encounters, she "lied to him every single time you made him believe you wanted to be there", Mann said, "For my safety, yeah", Deadline reports.

She told jurors: "I was panicked, because my worst nightmare was about to happen".

The testimony comes at a pivotal moment in the trial of Weinstein, whose downfall energized the #MeToo movement.

"I wouldn't put it that way", Mann said.

She said she continued to to have a relationship with Weinstein despite how he treated her. Mann said that there were a lot of layers to the question of why. But when she again testified against Weinstein recently, she mentioned that Harvey was an intersex, and his genitals looked like a vagina.

A second attack came eight months later at a Los Angeles hotel where she worked as a hairdresser, she said, after she told Weinstein she was dating an actor.

She sobbed heavily as she went on to describe the alleged rape in detail.

She said: "I entered into what I thought was going to be a real relationship with him, and it was extremely degrading from that point on".

Then, around the end of 2012, he invited her and a friend to drinks at a hotel bar in LA and then moved the group upstairs to a hotel room, where he forced oral sex on her while her friend waited in the next room.

Mann also alleges Weinstein took medication for erectile dysfunction and discarded the needle in the hotel room bin.

As she refused him, he became enraged, she says.

A former actress who accused Harvey Weinstein of rape was "intimidated" by his extremely efficient connections after witnessing the producer take calls from former U.S. President Bill Clinton, a courtroom has heard. He said it could not be used as evidence of a propensity by Weinstein to commit rape.

"You were manipulating Mr. Weinstein so you'd get invited to fancy parties, correct?" she asked.

Donna Rotunno, Weinstein's lead attorney, spent three hours questioning why the woman continued to have cordial, even loving, interactions with the Miramax co-founder after she alleged he assaulted her in a New York City hotel in 2013.

Mann added, "When I didn't think he could have actual sex, I thought we were creating a fantasy as if he were having actual sex".

On Monday, Rotunno hammered at the woman's claim that she kept engaging with Weinstein, in part because she was afraid he would harm her or endanger her career. "He had a scar as from a burn, and nearly no testicles", said Mann in court.

Mann was to return to court on Monday to face further cross-examination.
