A poster was sent to the police to inform residents of a block of flats in the United Kingdom that people who speak languages other than English in the building "we will not tolerate it".

The unsigned note was reportedly found in Winchester Tower in Norwich, eastern England, on Friday morning, hours before the United Kingdom officially left the European Union at 2300 GMT after 47 years of membership. The UK formally withdrew from the European Union that day.

Photographs of the poster were published on The Guardian and the Independent, both of which cited anonymous sources on Twitter.
