Jurgen Klopp: Salah was never selfish

Jurgen Klopp: Salah was never selfish”

Liverpool's senior stars jetted off for a hard-earned holiday following Saturday's win over Southampton as they began their Premier League winter break.

The opponents may play their best games then Liverpool wins easily.

Mohamed Salah scored twice at Anfield in addition to further goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson, the Reds registering a 16th successive victory and extending their unbeaten run to 42 league games.

In 2019, Time Magazine listed Salah as one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World", and that same year, he won Liverpool's Goal of the Decade title with his goal against Tottenham Hotspur in February 2018.

"I think a lot of it's just down to maybe being a bit more clinical, getting myself in more areas where I can shoot and affect the game".

"We've got players that can find you, so there's always opportunities that this team creates". Not a second. It seemed as if we lose if we lose. That is the only way for us to win a game. That helped massively and when we are rolling it's hard to stop.

The 4-0 win over a Southampton side who had made life hard for Liverpool, until being swamped in the second half saw Klopp's European champions pass yet more milestones in what increasingly promises to be one of English football's landmark campaigns.

Ralph Hasenhuttl, on the other hand, was also proud of what his Southampton side was able to produce. The way we played was unbelievably good and I am proud and stand by our plan.

Liverpool FC have earned 73 points after 25 games, which is a feat no other team in Europe's major five leagues has previously achieved. But in the end it was a deserved win for Liverpool.

"We have just incredibly hard opponents to play against, they are not here to be part of any party, they want to hurt us normally - they want to beat us".

Klopp went on to praise the Brazilian for taking a "big step" forward against Southampton, as he stepped into a holding role which allowed Henderson to push forward and link up with Liverpool's front three.
