Bernie Sanders "It's not practical as far to the left"

Bernie Sanders

The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found Donald Trump trailing each of the leading Democratic presidential candidates in hypothetical general election match-ups, though Joe Biden did slightly better than his rivals, leading the incumbent president by six points nationally.

The Vermont senator hasn't exactly enamored himself with the financial services industry with his proposals to tax trades, capital gains and the ultra-wealthy, Bloomberg writes. The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas released a statement regarding his bands backing of Sanders, "We are honored to be associated with such a dedicated, diligent, & trustworthy patriot-and fellow native New Yorker". It will take place in Durham, New Hampshire on February 10th, on the eve of the Democratic primary. The last time was during Sanders bid in 2016.

Bloomberg spoke on the far left of Sanders' agenda that he would support Sanders across Trump and said that "what he wants to do will never get through Congress".

Sanders also saw a lack of discussion about climate change and action on stopping mass shootings in Trump's speech as glaring omissions, inferring that Trump was subservient to the NRA and was turning his back on future generations.

Dan Alpert, founding managing partner at investment bank Westwood Capital in NY, tells the news service that some on Wall Street "are far more understanding" that the growing chasm between the wealthy and the poor "is not commensurate with a free society and democracy, and eventually you're going to have people with pitchforks".

The Strokes will play an exclusive concert next month in support of Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign. "The moment you start playing games trying to deny whoever is the nominee, we really start to get into unsafe territory in terms of defeating Trump".
