Gervonta Davis charged with domestic violence, denies hitting woman”

Davis was attending a charity basketball game on Saturday while in town for Super Bowl weekend when the altercation took place.

According to CBS Miami, Davis is being charged with simple battery domestic violence.

'As a result of an ongoing investigation after being notified through social media and the victim, on February 1 2020, [Davis] was observed battering his former girlfriend whom [sic] have child together, ' read a statement from Coral Gables police obtained by TMZ.

Over the weekend, we reported the news of professional lightweight championship boxer Gervonta Davis yoking up the mother of his children in Miami. He pulled her out of her seat and off to the side of the crowd.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Davis posted an Instagram story, identifying the woman as his child's mother and attempting to explain the incident.

"I never once hit her", Davis began explaining in the post. She is also the mother of his child.

The Baltimore native is 23-0 with 22 KOs.
