A&E worker at Worthing Hospital 'tests positive for coronavirus'

A&E worker at Worthing Hospital 'tests positive for coronavirus'”

Experts previously warned that highly contagious coronavirus carriers known as "super spreaders" could make the new outbreak more unpredictable and tougher to contain.

It came as Steve Walsh, the businessman at the centre of a United Kingdom outbreak of coronavirus, thanked the NHS for his treatment and said he is "fully recovered".

Steve Walsh, from Hove in East Sussex, is still in quarantine at Guy's Hospital in London despite fully recovering from the virus. He was also connected to at least one case in Spain.

Willett confirmed that Walsh is "no longer contagious, and poses no risk to the public". "He is keen to return to his normal life and spend time with his family", Willett said, according to the Sun.

After recovering from the illness, Walsh praised the NHS for their care and expressed his sympathies "with others who have contracted coronavirus". The research was done after studying around 138 people diagnosed with Coronavirus in Wuhan.

This was after concerns were raised that Walsh, who tested positive for coronavirus, may have passed it on to others.

The father said: "They said both my son and his mum had been in direct contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus and told us to stay at home".

Tim Loughton, Conservative MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, said on Wednesday that a number of Global Positioning System from Brighton were among those staying in the French ski chalet with Mr Walsh.

When the diagnosis was confirmed, he was sent to an isolation unit in the hospital, where he remained, and, as a precaution, his family was also asked to isolate themselves.

He said: "The fact we have only recorded eight cases in the United Kingdom is because our surveillance is focused on travellers". He was diagnosed in Singapore and it was unknown to him earlier when he visited many places including The Alps.

"Surveillance has started across the United Kingdom in hospitals of pneumonia cases".

So-called "superspreader" cases, where subjects infect multiple people often as they travel between countries and regions, highlight the importance of worldwide cooperation in containing the virus.

Meanwhile, pupils at Cottesmore St Mary's Catholic and Bevendean Primary School in Brighton were told they could stay at home after a couple of teachers feared the had come into contact with the virus.

And two prisoners at HMP Bullingdon in Oxfordshire are being tested for the illness and are being held in isolation.

Prof Cosford said PHE was working to trace the small number of contacts of the two doctors, including a Brighton GP, who were among the four new cases announced on Monday.
