'The Batman' Offers First Glimpse at Robert Pattinson in Costume

'The Batman' Offers First Glimpse at Robert Pattinson in Costume”

Director Matt Reeves released the short teaser on Vimeo on February 14 showing a "camera test" of Pattinson stepping into a dark frame saturated in red light.

The 56-second clip slowly brings the Bat motif on the front of the suit into focus before panning up to show Pattinson in profile as he flexes his armored shoulders. The Batman director Matt Reeves has just unveiled the first glimpse at Batman's new suit for the upcoming movie, and it offers a taste of how our hero will appear when he's brooding above the streets of Gotham. Turns out Pattinson's cheekbones look great in that mask.

The "Twilight" and "Harry Potter" star is the latest to don the cape after taking over for Ben Affleck.

We finally have our first look at Robert Pattison as the Caped Crusader, and quite frankly, it's a vibe I didn't see coming.

Filming on The Batman began in London in January.

"I remember saying to Matt, 'It does feel quite transformative!'" Pattinson told Variety. It's such an absurd thing to say.

"And it's pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly hard to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. Once you've got it on, it's like, "Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs".

Pattinson is set to inherit the Batsuit and all that goes along with Bruce Wayne's iconic backstory beside a cast that also includes Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jayme Lawson, John Turturro, and Peter Sarsgaard.
