Watch astronaut Christina Koch meet her dog after a year apart”

And they definitely miss their dogs.

After spending a record-breaking 328 days in space, the longest single spaceflight by a woman, NASA astronaut Christina Koch officially returned to Earth on February 6. The astronaut posted a sweet video on her Twitter of the moment when she was greeted by her dog after returning home.

The video shows the anxious puppy wagging a storm and madly scratching a glass door when Koch approaches. He was very excited to see her. This is the type of video that you can loop and enjoy again and again.

"I felt like a two-week-old who was actually working hard to hold up my own head", she said, describing her first few days back in gravity.

"It's certainly a very exciting time to be part of the NASA family when we are looking to go back to the moon", she said during a press conference in Houston Wednesday. Koch broke the record for the longest continual space flight for a woman during her ISS residency. You can also include "proud father father" at the top of your resume. The record spaceflight saw Koch participate in more than 200 scientific investigations, including a look at how such a long term in space physically affects a woman.

The electrical engineer-turned astronaut said she counted herself lucky to not have suffered more serious ailments.

"Having the opportunity to be up here for so long is truly an honor", Koch said of her history-making accomplishment back in December, according to Space.com. "I can not wait to feel and hear Earth again".
