Neil Diamond updates 'Sweet Caroline' into coronavirus PSA: 'Hands... washing hands'”

Accompanied by his dog and his guitar, Neil Diamond delivered an acoustic rendition of his classic song, "Sweet Caroline", but before beginning, he shared some comforting words with viewers.

The Grammy victor then started singing an acoustic model of his iconic 1969 tune "Candy Caroline", full with a guitar.

"Hands, wash your hands", sang Diamond in support of coronavirus prevention habits.

He sang seven of his greatest hits as he took the stage at the 24th annual Keep Memory Alive Power of Love gala at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. "Give it a try okay?" says the singer-songwriter in a two-minute clip, tweeted with the caption "Stay safe out there!"

Neil Diamond is "reaching out" on social media with a message to fans: "Don't touch me, I won't touch you".

That year, he performed Sweet Caroline via satellite for her 50th birthday celebration.

Neil's video was released on his Twitter on Sunday and it has already been viewed over 3-million times. In the clip, the hitmaker tells his fans he knows everyone has been struggling during this uncertain time, so he made a decision to spread cheer with a song.

Diamond wasn't the first music icon to go viral amid the coronavirus outbreak. A version of The Beatles' "I Want To Hold Your Hand" was also given a viral update, as was Pink Floyd's "Hey You".
