United Kingdom to open temporary London hospital to tackle coronavirus outbreak”

The NHS is "rallying the troops" for the war on coronavirus, with volunteers being called up to help vulnerable people stay safe and well at home. As the United Kingdom death toll climbs to over 400, pressures on the NHS have increased.

The ministry of health andf the National Health Service has delclined to comment immediately.

"But many of those shielding will need our support to do that, and by signing up to be an NHS Volunteer Responder, people who are well can do their bit too".

An appeal for volunteers to support the NHS during the coronavirus outbreak that was launched yesterday evening has reached 170,000 sign-ups overnight.

Speaking at today's daily briefing, the Prime Minster said the government had been hoping for around 250,000 volunteers when the scheme went live but have been overwhelmed by the response.

Who will be able to request helpOther health services including Global Positioning System, doctors, pharmacists, social care staff will be able to request help from the volunteers for their at risk patients through a call centre where the needs of the patient will be matched to a volunteer.

At this hard time for frontline doctors and nurses, sign up here to show your support now to our courageous NHS Heroes.

Those who have signed up can help others by doing jobs such as driving patients to appointments or making regular phone calls to those in isolation.

"That is already, in one day, as many volunteers as the population of Coventry".

"They will be absolutely crucial in the fight against this virus".
