Elton John to host star-studded benefit concert for coronavirus relief”

Elton John is doing his part to provide some much-needed entertainment right now with a livestreamed concert featuring Billie Eilish, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, Backstreet Boys and more.

Sir Elton will host the iHeart Living Room Concert for America, an hour-long commercial free "living room concert" that will find stars delivering at-home performances in tribute to health professionals, first responders and frontline workers fighting the spread of COVID-19. Fox will air the special simultaneously on all of its linear and digital platforms, while iHeartRadio will broadcast the Living Room concert on its stations nationwide as well as its app. The artists will use their personal cell phones, cameras and audio equipment during the broadcast.

The special, which is set to air in the slot originally slated for the iHeartRadio Music Awards, comes as many concerts have been delayed and sidelined due to the global pandemic and artists look to circumvent the issue by offering free concerts online.

Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys will play a benefit concert with a difference to raise funds for those facing hardship as coronavirus spreads.
