Hanks, Wilson return to LA after battling Covid-19”

"Tom and Rita are doing very well and continue to recover", Hanks' rep, Leslee Dart, said.

Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, have arrived back home in Los Angeles after testing positive for COVID-19 and spending weeks being quarantined in Australia.

On March 12, Hanks confirmed on Instagram that both he and Wilson had tested positive for COVID-19 while in Australia.

The couple were photographed driving in L.A. with Hanks behind the wheel and Wilson, both 63, in the passenger seat two weeks after they were both diagnosed with coronavirus. In his initial post on his illness, Hanks described it as feeling "a bit exhausted, like we had colds, and some body aches".

The Oscar-winning actor was in Australia for the pre-production of director Baz Luhrmann's biopic on Elvis Presley, to play the role of the star's manager Colonel Tom Parker. Rita had some chills that came and went. The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed.

It is not yet known if the couple tested negative before returning to the US. The actor also encouraged fans to self-isolate and practice social distancing to slow the spread of the virus. In a post from the Oscar victor, Hanks revealed that he and Wilson made a decision to get tested after they both began feeling under the weather. You don't get it from anyone.

"Common sense, no? Going to take awhile, but if we take care of each other, help where we can, and give up some comforts...this, too, shall pass".
