Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan elected to Basketball Hall of Fame”

When the Hall of Fame class of 2020 is formally announced on Saturday (at noon Eastern), it's no surprise that those three guys got in, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Garnett started the trend of players jumping straight to the NBA out of high school when he chose to skip college and enter the 1995 NBA Draft, where he was the No. 5-overall pick by the Timberwolves.

This is the first year Bryant, Duncan and Garnett are eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, as they are each four seasons removed from retiring. The official announcement is expected Saturday. He was an 18-time All-Star, 15-time All-NBA selection, five-time champion and one-time MVP.

Bryant died January 26 at 41 in a helicopter crash. The Los Angeles Lakers great ranks fourth in National Basketball Association history in points, and he was selected to the All-Defensive team 12 times.

While Garnett's résumé isn't quite as decorated as that of Bryant and Duncan, he earned 15 All-Star nods, an MVP award (in 2004), a Defensive Player of the Year award (2008), and a title in 2008 with the Celtics. She was the MVP of the WNBA Finals as the Fever won the league title in 2012, a year after she was the regular-season MVP.

Throughout his career he was a rookie of the year, two-time MVP, three-time Finals MVP and 15-time All-Star.

Tomjanovich is one of just three coaches to win both an National Basketball Association championship and an Olympic gold medal. Garnett was 15-time All-Star who averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds. He also averaged 17.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in 11 seasons as a player with the Rockets, and he was an All-American for MI, where he remains the all-time leading rebounder and is second in scoring average. He played 22 National Basketball Association seasons, including one-plus with the Brooklyn Nets and won a championship with the "Big 3" Boston Celtics in 2007-2008.
