Apple Rumored To Bring ‘Real’ Home Screen Widgets to iOS14

Apple Rumored To Bring ‘Real’ Home Screen Widgets to iOS14”

This year Apple's annual developer conference WWDC will be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic, but iOS 14 will be available to users.

We have already seen a few concepts of what the redesigned Home screen would look like based on the previous leak.

Of course, these images are also likely from test versions of the new operating system, and might end up being smoke in the wind, should Apple decide to can the features at any point between now and iOS 14's actual release.

iOS 14 code discovered by 9to5mac indicates that Apple is still working on screen widgets for the iPhone, so it's better not to hold your breath for this feature, as the company can very well kill it off completely overnight. The new panel shows default Apple wallpapers separated by three kinds of collections - "Classic Stripes, ' "Earth and Moon, ' and 'Flowers". In addition to the normal view of the wallpaper, you can also toggle between dark, dim and blurred options. Dongle Book Pro shows off a Collections segment, which you will be able to fill up with your photographs, as well as a segment for iOS 13 backgrounds which will remain even after the iOS 14 update arrives layer this season. Similar wallpapers look like they'll be grouped together and you be able to swipe horizontally to view your options.

Users might also see a fresh "Home Screen Appearance" tool that allows users to specify a smart dynamic wallpaper for the home screen.

The 9to5Mac report also said that Apple might be working on a new feature, being referred to as "Avocado" internally. Currently, iOS 13 only allows for a widget screen to the left of the iPhone's home screen, and a static widget box on the home screen for iPadOS 13.

9to5Mac claims that they have discovered code in iOS 14 which suggests that Apple is working to implement widgets right on the Home screen, which can be moved freely just like we can do with app icons now. It is still said to be in works and might get scrapped by the company.
