Grimes offers pronunciation of son's name different from boyfriend Elon Musk's”

While Elon Musk and his partner Claire Grimes" creative name for their newborn son "X Æ A-12' left netizens scratching their heads, the CEO of SpaceX has recently explained the meaning and how to pronounce the name and it is not as complicated as many thought it to be.

"Well, first of all, it was my partner [Grimes] who actually mostly came up with the name".

The pronunciation of their child's name initially led to confusion and memes, but the couple says the name is pronounced "X Ash Archangel". On being asked why he added the A-12, Musk said that it was to honour the plane Archangel 12, which according to Musk is "the coolest plane ever."For the uninitiated, Archangel 12 was a spy plane built for the Central Intelligence Agency in the 1960s".

In an Instagram post from Thursday, May 6, however, the 32-year-old musician offered a different take.

In a comment replying to a fan on Instagram, the singer said that the Æ part of her son's name should be pronounced "A.I".

The discussion has also shifted to the name of Musk's sixth son, who has been the focus of various theories in recent days.

The couple recently welcomed X Æ A-12 into the world and after fans puzzled over the correct pronunciation, Elon revealed all. Grimes, explaining the characters of the name given to the child in a statement made on Twitter, also helped to solve the questions in mind.

"X, the unknown variable", the singer wrote, adding an emoji of two crossing swords.

The use of the phrase, "A-12, quot;, was inspired by his favorite plane". No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Musk shares five sons from a previous marriage and his first son reportedly died of sudden infant death syndrome at just 10 weeks old in 2002.

Gwyneth Paltrow, whose daughter is named Apple, joked in an Instagram comment that Grimes and Musk's newborn wins for having "the controversial baby name". "Great in battle, but non-violent", read Grimes' tweet.

"SR-71, but yes", he wrote.
