Mary-Kate Olsen files for divorce from Olivier Sarkozy”

The coronavirus has proven to be an obstacle to Mary-Kate Olsen to divorce banker husband Olivier Sarkozy. But, according to reports, the former actress' request was turned down by a New York State Supreme Court judge on Thursday, who reportedly felt the matter was "not essential".

She then asked to submit an emergency filing, due to the French banker allegedly making her move out of their NY apartment amid the health crisis, but this has also now been denied. Now Olsen is requesting an emergency divorce order and asking that their prenuptial agreement be enforced in an effort to protect her property.

"If an attorney files an action for divorce in a county where neither party resides during this pandemic because that county is open and their county is not, that attorney is essentially trying to circumvent the Governor's Essential Matter's decree and may be subject to sanctions", Manhattan lawyer Susan Moss said. "He determined that it is not an essential matter, so they can't file anything at this point".
