Apple Mulls Launching Affordable iPad, iPad mini”

Kuo previously leaked that Apple is adding a mini-LED display on the iPad mini, which is rumored to be released by the end of the year.

If it turns out to be the case, that will be a big improvement for the iPad mini, whose form factor hasn't really changed since the original one launched in 2012. Since every other iPad model already includes the A12, this report has to be referring to the $329 entry-level iPad, which would be a pretty significant boost for an iPad at that price. That device will be 18 months old by the time it's replaced and has an older origin anyway - the chassis design with Touch ID home button is from the old 10.5-inch iPad Pro that was then replaced by the 2018/2020 iPad Pro 11-inch with Face ID.

Kuo believes both of these tablets will follow the iPhone SE in strategy, as far as pricing is concerned. "By reducing the bezels, the iPad mini comes out to a screen of around 8.2 ".

Kuo claims the 10.8-inch iPad could land sometime in the second half of 2020, while the new iPad Mini is slated to arrive in the first half of 2021.

The largest medium-size touch supplier GIS seems to be the primary touch panel supplier for these two new ‌iPad‌ models, thanks to the cost advantages of Megasite.

There have been some discussions recently about the augmented reality glasses that Apple is working on. "We think that two new affordable ‌iPad‌ models will significantly contribute to GIS's revenue because affordable models account for 60-70% of total ‌iPad‌ shipments".

Apple Glasses could feature a high-resolution display and are likely to be reliant on the iPhone for processing power to keep them slim and lightweight. Smart device should work on the basis of the rOS, the user will offer control via voice and gestures with his head.
