He notes the provinces has order that all long-term care residents be tested regardless of whether or not they are showing symptoms.

Among the total cases, 77 (12%) have been residents or patients associated with a confirmed institutional outbreak, and among the total deaths, 11 (44%) have been residents or patients associated with a confirmed institutional outbreak.

A "small glitch" in Thursday's Ontario COVID-19 statistics has been reported by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier of Ontario and Minister of Health. A total of 975 are in hospital, with 180 of those in intensive care units.

A tweet by Elliott states the real day-over-day numbers are 345 new cases on May 14 and 341 today.

Health officials say 249 people have recovered after contracting COVID-19.

A total of 18,354 tests were conducted by the province on Thursday, up from 17,429 on Wednesday.

The company laid off half its workers in March but rehired 16,500 people under the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program, which was set to expire June 6 but will now be extended.

They say while the number of confirmed cases remains at 120, the number of active cases is zero and all of those who had contracted the virus have recovered.

As of Friday afternoon, there have been 74,750 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 5,553 deaths in the country.

There have been 27 more deaths bringing that total to 1,825.

New Brunswick is now in phase 2 of its COVID-19 recovery plan, which is aimed at the reopening of businesses and activities while working to prevent a resurgence of transmission.

The province now has a total of 22,313 confirmed cases, 1,858 deaths, and 17,020 resolved cases.

Health officials say eight people are now in hospital, with four in intensive care.

The latest numbers come as golf courses, marinas, boat clubs and public boat launches have opened in Ontario on Saturday as the province begins to ease restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

A reporting glitch in data yesterday did not capture 87 new cases, therefore making it appear that yesterday's reported number was the lowest number in six weeks.

Sunday's report marks an increase in cumulative cases of 1.5 per cent, while Saturday saw a 1.8 per cent increase.
