Redskins receiver Cody Latimer arrested for assault, illegal discharge of a firearm”

According to the police report, deputies were called to an apartment at 12:11 a.m.; when they arrived at the apartment, they detained three individuals and arrested Latimer before booking him into the Douglas County Detention Facility.

The wide receiver was arrested early Saturday morning just after midnight in Englewood, Colorado, where cops were summoned to an apartment complex Cody was at. From there, the National Football League player was taken into custody and booked at the Douglas County Detention Facility. Latimer is facing a handful of charges including assault, illegal discharge of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

"There's an entire back story to this situation that constitutes one of the most highly provocative situations you can imagine", Latimer's attorney Harvey Steinberg said in a statement, according to ESPN.

Latimer posted a $25,000 bond and was released later Saturday morning. "Please withhold judgment until all the facts of what took place that night are known". One unidentified person was later said to have minor injuries not related to a gunshot.

Latimer played collegiately at Indiana. Last year, Latimer had 24 receptions for 300 yards and two touchdowns. He spent four seasons with the Broncos, including the 2015 Super Bowl 50 championship team, and spent the 2018-19 seasons with the New York Giants. He caught 24 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns during 2019 for NY.
