Apple explains plans to safely restart operations at its retail stores”

O'Brien mentioned that over 100 stores globally have already reopened their doors. First, let's have a little recap.

"In China, and later around the world, we were one of the first companies to close our stores". It started shutting its more than 50 Greater China stores in January and reopened them by mid-March. It plans on bringing over these rules to the U.S.

Customers who do enter Apple's retail stores will have "plenty of space", according to O'Brien.

The U.S. Apple stores set to reopen are in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Oklahoma and Washington state.

The website 9to5Mac reported that the company would reopen 10 of its stores in Italy beginning on Tuesday.

"A store opening in no way means that we won't take the preventative step of closing it again should local conditions warrant", O'Brien wrote.

You can check the status of any Apple Store by going to this website and typing in the store's zip code.

O'Brien said that in every store, they are focused on limiting occupancy and giving everybody lots of room, and renewing their focus on one-on-one, personalized service at the Genius Bar and throughout the store.

The letter states that it will be compulsory for Apple employees as well as customers to wear face masks or coverings while inside the store.

As a safety measure, all Apple retail stores will frequently carry out deep cleaning of display products, other highly trafficked areas, and surfaces throughout the day. And many Apple Stores will provide curbside pick-up and drop off. Online orders can be picked up from an Apple Store or shipped to a home address.
