Catholic priest uses water pistol to deliver socially-distanced blessing to parishioners

Catholic priest uses water pistol to deliver socially-distanced blessing to parishioners”

Take a look at some inspiring images of Americans pulling together in a time of crisis.

"Now it's happened to Fr. Tim, who wowed the world with his unique holy water squirt gun, blessing food on Holy Saturday".

Viral photos of a priest using a squirt gun filled with holy water to bless churchgoers during a socially distant service are taking on a life of their own on the Internet.

Photos posted on social media by the St. Ambrose Church show the Rev. Tim Pelc shooting water into a vehicle window as it stopped by the steps of the church on Easter. St. Ambrose Parish wrote on Facebook April 12, and the images, taken by parishioner Larry Peplin, have gone viral and sparked a meme Photoshop battle on Reddit.

In one imaginative effort, the 70-year-old Man of the Cloth can be seen dousing a group of devil-like demons with his trusty plastic water pistol.

The photos inspired dozens of memes that were widely shared on social media over the weekend.

"The original idea was to do something for the kids of the parish", he said.

"It was big in Ukraine, and the Germans are amusing, that led to a whole sub discussion about the types of water pistols", Pelc said.

"It even had two hits in the Vatican, which sort of concerned me but I haven't heard anything yet". Not only did the friend say it was safe (and fun) he was also able to provide the priest with the proper PPE he would need to carry out the service.

Father Tim said he's surprised his photos are gaining a second wave of notoriety, but he's happy they're making people smile and helped the kids in his community have a memorable Easter during a global pandemic. "Let us pray for all those who selflessly work at essential businesses that keep us safe, fed, and healthy".
