McConnell admits Obama did leave Trump a pandemic plan

"I was wrong - they did leave behind a plan".

The concession comes days after he falsely accused the Obama administration of failing to leave the Trump administration "any kind of game plan" for something like the coronavirus pandemic during a Trump campaign online chat with Lara Trump, the President's daughter-in-law.

"So, if I find something that makes me suspicious of President Obama, if he may have been part of committing a crime against General Flynn or anyone else, I will turn that over to Mr. [John] Durham", he promised, referring to the USA attorney who is investigating the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.

"I was wrong", McConnell said when asked about his comments during a Fox News interview. I clearly made a mistake in that regard.

Former President Barack Obama responded to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell calling him classless for giving his opinion on Trump's pandemic response.

"She went on to remind Obama of actions carried out by his "'wingman" Eric holder" and several other administration officials, telling the former president, "the inability of anyone in your alumni association to find "anybody who has been charged [with anything] just getting off scot-free' would be laughable were it not so pathetic".

But Politico reported Graham said later: "I don't think now's the time for me to do that". The 69-page document contained hundreds of recommendations for dealing with numerous problems plaguing the nation's coronavirus response - from shortages of personal protective equipment to the need for unified public guidance on the crisis. "In other words, the Obama-Biden paper pocket was superseded by President Trump-style pandemic preparedness".

"You know, we know he doesn't like much this administration is doing", McConnell told Lara Trump.

Bright testified before Congress earlier Thursday that the Trump administration severely botched its coronavirus response and misled the public on its handling of the outbreak.

Still, McConnell added Thursday that "as to whether or not the plan was followed and who's the critic and all the rest, I don't have any observation about that because I don't know enough about the details of that to comment on it in any detail".

Trump said in April that he was surprised that Obama did not immediately endorse Joe Biden for president and recently tried to blame Obama for the lack of coronavirus testing in the U.S.
