Salah's agent dismisses claims Liverpool star was approached by Madrid”

Giorgio Chiellini has hailed Sergio Ramos foul on Mohamed Salah in the 2018 Champions League final a 'masterstroke, ' despite the Real Madrid captain claiming injuring the forward wasn't his plan.

KIEV, UKRAINE - MAY 26: Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid speaks with Mohamed Salah of Liverpool as he goes down injured during the UEFA Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool at NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium on May 26, 2018 in Kiev, Ukraine.

Salah has scored 91 goals in 144 games since arriving at Liverpool from Roma in 2017.

Chiellini pointed to the stunning 4-1 home Champions League loss to Ajax in 2019 as an instance that his loss was critical to Madrid.

Chiellini goes on to suggest that without Ramos in defence the rest of the Real "champions" are more like 'school boys, ' "The strength he transmits through his presence alone is incredible".

In his autobiography, the 35-year-old Juventus ace veteran Italy said: "Ramos has always said it was unintentional".

Ramos' regular red cards - he has been sent off 14 times in the last ten seasons - have seen him labelled a master of the dark arts.

"He has two characteristics that nearly no one else has".

But Chiellini insists the centre-back is the best in the business. He makes interventions beyond any logic, even with injuries that he causes with nearly diabolical cunning. "Sergio said he didn't do it on goal, but he knew that by falling like that and not letting go of your opponent, there's a 90% chance you'll break his arm". They suddenly regress. Real Madrid become a defenceless team. Without him, stars like Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal and Marcelo seem like kids from the Primavera team.
