New Cases Of COVID-19 In Ontario”

The province's public health agency has reported 910 deaths of residents in long-term care, 159 deaths of residents at retirement homes, and 52 hospital patient deaths related to outbreaks. The ministry is reporting 1,389 deaths in the Ontario facilities and 189 outbreaks. The site says 2,485 patients have recovered.

On the eve of the first major step to reopening the economy, Ontario reported 304 new cases and 23 additional deaths Monday.

There are now 1,606 cases in Brampton, 88 in Caledon and 1,773 in Mississauga.

Of those patients, 174 are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 133 of those in the ICU are on ventilators.

It's the 10th day in a row without a case, keeping the province's total number of confirmed cases at 260.

The number of confirmed cases in the province remains at 120. On Saturday, health officials confirmed 391 new cases of the novel coronavirus, marking the highest number of patients reported in a single-day since May 9. There are now 2,526 LTC residents and patients fighting COVID-19 in relation to these outbreaks, as well as 1,606 LTC employees.

As of today, 20,573 tests have been conducted.

COVID-19 stats in Canada hit a milestone figure today.

Following the daily reporting of Ontario figures, more than 50 per cent of the country's total cases were marked as resolved.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario now stands at 22,653, with 17,360 cases considered to be resolved.

The Ontario NDP counter that the Ford government should increase testing and tracking COVID-19 cases to make re-opening safer.
