Adam Sandler To Star In ‘Hustle’ Netflix Film

Adam Sandler To Star In ‘Hustle’ Netflix Film”

And on Monday, it was announced Adam Sandler has teamed with LeBron James for the first of the new batch of films, the basketball movie Hustle.

Sandler is set to star in the film as well as produce through his Happy Madison banner alongside Roth/Kirschenbaum Films and James and Maverick Carter's SpringHill Entertainment banner, with We the Animals director Jeremiah Zagar attached to helm the project.

The plot centers around a recently fired basketball scout (played by Sandler) who's looking to get back into the business after discovering a top-level worldwide star.

However, it is still unknown when production will be able to kick off, given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and its effect on various filming schedules around the world.

After Adam Sandler joked that if he didn't get an Oscar for his tour de force performance in the 2019 film Uncut Gems, he'd make a movie that is "so bad on objective", it appears that Sandler has decided to not make good on that promise.

LADbible has reached out to Netflix for comment. Netflix acquired Hustle from Legendary and pitched it to Adam Sandler.

Sharing the frankly ridiculous figures to confirm Sandler's enduring popularity with its viewers, Netflix tweeted: "Ya'll watched 2 billion - yes *billion* - hours of Sandler on Netflix".

Sandler extended his partnership with Netflix following the huge success of comedy Murder Mystery and the critical acclaim leveled at Uncut Gems, for which he won an Independent Spirit Award and which premieres later this month on Netflix which co-financed it.

Directed by Benny and Josh Safdie, the film sees a welcome change of direction for the actor, thanks to his turn as sweary yet charismatic jeweller Howard Ratner.
