Latimer's arrest stemmed from poker game argument”

The allegations against Latimer - he's facing charges of assault in the second degree, menacing, illegally discharging a firearm, and reckless endangerment - took place at the same location and around the same time as the sexual assault, Schefter adds.

The police report did not include details about the initial altercation, but Latimer's attorney revealed during court on Monday that there was an investigation into an allegation of sexual assault committed by an individual at the gathering against Latimer's 4-year-old son.

The Indiana University product was ordered to return for a July 24 court date after posting a $25K bond on saturday.

The police report states that English asked for everyone to leave his apartment after Latimer and another person got into an argument during a poker game. During that game, the National Football League player got into a "heated argument" with another participant, at which point English ordered everyone to leave his apartment.

English told authorities that several people, including Latimer, showed up to his apartment at around 8 play poker.

30 minutes later, Latimer allegedly showed up at English's apartment, pulled out a handgun, and said he had saved two bullets for English and English's girlfriend. Members of the group were reportedly drinking and gambling when a dispute purportedly broke out between Latimer and another person.

Police arrived around midnight, and English received medical attention after suffering a contusion on the top of his head and a cut on his face. Latimer eventually "emptied the magazine and cleared the chamber of his gun", but that was after he fired a pair of shots near English. The fight ended after Latimer told English to calm down.

Latimer spent the past two seasons with the Giants after beginning his career with Denver.

Latimer signed with the Redskins as a free agent in March.
