Two People Accused Of Shoplifting While Wearing Watermelons On Their Heads

Two People Accused Of Shoplifting While Wearing Watermelons On Their Heads”

For some time now it's been a bit of an Aussie tradition to don a watermelon helmet for those long days in the sun at the cricket.

Police in Louisa, Virginia reported a weird incident in which two people were seen wearing watermelons on their heads at a Sheetz convenience store on May 6.

The 20-year-old suspect who was arrested has been charged with wearing a mask in public while committing larceny, underage possession of alcohol, and petit larceny of alcohol, police said.

The knock-off jack-o-lanterns showed up at a Sheetz convenience store around 9:30 p.m. on May 6, according to the Louisa police department. Both men had watermelons on their heads with holes cut out for eye slits, and they made off with an unspecified amount of alcohol. Police are still searching for the second masked individual involved in the theft, and are asking the public to help identify him.

In the comments people revealed the pair had even posed for a picture at a different store earlier in the day.

"Nice and inconspicuous. We're clearly dealing with two masterminds", one person replied.

Hilariously, if anyone has information about the crime and want to report it to the Louisa Police Department, they need to use the reference case "MELON-HEADS".
