Bojan Bogdanovic will have season-ending wrist surgery”

Utah Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic will undergo season-ending wrist surgery, the team announced Monday.

The 31-year-old Croatian playmaker, in his sixth National Basketball Association season, is expected to fully recover in time for the start of the 2020-21 campaign, according to unnamed sources.

Bogdanovic, who is eighth in the National Basketball Association with 189 made three-pointers this season, suffered the injury previous year and played in pain until the league shut down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday in NY.

According to Wojnarowski, Bogdanovic played through the injury after getting hurt in 2019. There is no timeline for his return.

He was averaging a career-high 20.2 points per game when the National Basketball Association went into hiatus in mid-March.

There's still a to of uncertainty around the league on whether the current season of the National Basketball Association will resume or not.

Bogdanovic was one of the top sharpshooters available this past summer, signing a four-year, $73-million deal with the Jazz.

The Jazz on Monday stated Bogdanovic could have his surgery on May 19 in NY. Bogdanovic scored a career-high 20.2 points per game on 44.7% shooting, along with grabbing 4.1 rebounds a game.

Gobert was the first athlete in major American sports to test positive for COVID-19, leading to the late postponement of the Jazz's March 11 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the National Basketball Association suspending its season the next day. Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 on March 11, forcing the league to stop play until further notice.
