CNN to show Woods-Mickelson rematch as Sky talks 'break down'

CNN to show Woods-Mickelson rematch as Sky talks 'break down'”

Owned by WarnerSports - which is also the parent company of Turner Sports, the United States station that will screen the action from The Medallist course in Florida - CNN International will screen the 18 holes from 7pm (BST), with Woods teaming up with Peyton Manning, the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback, to compete against Mickelson and Tampa Bay Buccaneers playmaker Tom Brady. But the good news for those without a subscription is that CNN International is on Freeview.

Sky broadcast "The Match", the first head-to-head clash between Mickelson and Woods which took place in Las Vegas in November 2018.

And now they'll be doing exactly that, but on the green - with an impending golf match, pitting them toe to toe once again (along with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson involved).

Live golf returned to our screens last weekend at the TaylorMade Driving Relief, which saw Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson beat Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff, in an event that raised over $5.5 million for coronavirus relief. Both CNN International and Turner Sports are owned by US-based media group WarnerMedia.

Following last weekend's TaylorMade Driving Relief at Seminole, live golf is back on our screens again this Sunday at Medalist Golf Club in Florida, which hosts The Match: Champions for Charity, featuring Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson competing with National Football League legends Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, both keen golfers.

Playing with partners this time around, the golf pros will use a four ball format for the front nine and a modified alternate shot format for the back nine.
