COVID-19 cases in Douglas County remain steady at 62”

Statewide, officials reported 53,009 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 and a death toll of 5,060 Wednesday, May 20. DHS also reported 34 more labs are being on boarded for future testing. But the number of people in intensive care units fell, the data showed.

The United States has said it will send 200 U.S. -manufactured medical ventilators to Russia after U.S. President Donald Trump offered the assistance in response to a request from Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said expanded testing capacity allowed for more testing of people already in hospitals for non-COVID-19 treatment, and an order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo now prevents hospitals from discharging nursing home residents until they test negative for the coronavirus.
