"Great Job": ISRO On Historic NASA, SpaceX Mission

With the first leg of the historic journey now complete, Behnken and Hurley are expected to remain aboard the space station for up to 110 days, NASA announced.

This isn't the first time astronauts rocked out to some good ol" heavy rock and metal music while in orbit, as Behnken is quite the fan of the genres, blasting Tool's "Parabola' during a space mission ten years prior.

The private rocket company SpaceX has sent two NASA astronauts into orbit.

The astronauts' primary mission, called Demo-2, is a final test of the Crew Dragon's performance before NASA certifies it for ISS crewed transport missions. Johnson Center Director Mark Geyer, International Space Station Program Deputy Manager Kenneth Todd, NASA Commercial Crew Program Deputy Manager Steve Stich, and NASA Astronaut Kjell Lindgren also will participate in the live media briefing broadcast on NASA Television and the agency's website. A successful splashdown sometime this summer will pave the way for regular operational missions as early as August.

"It's great to get the United States back in the crewed launch business, and we're just really glad to be on board this magnificent complex", Hurley said. However, Behnken noted that both he and Hurley were expecting that. The weird object, which travelled at a high speed, appeared below the Falcon 9 rocket as it was entering low Earth orbit.

"The whole world saw this mission, and we are so, so proud of everything you have done for our country and, in fact, to inspire the world", NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a call from Mission Control in Houston.

The aerospace giant Boeing already has a contract with NASA to do so.

It was a point picked up on by President Donald Trump, who came to Florida to watch the launch.
