YouTube Star Embroiled in Controversy Over Looting Video”

YouTube star Jake Paul has responded to social media backlash after some alleged he was looting and destroying property during protests in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The YouTuber-turned boxer was seen at Fashion Square in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he was captured in footage along with looters who were stealing shoes and other merchandise, along with a display auto in the mall being broken into for no apparent reason other than to damage it.

The clip, which has been shared by various accounts, was pulled from Paul's videographer, Andrew Blue's since-deleted Instagram stories. At no point in the videos does Paul or his team appear to be participating in the looting or vandalism, although at one point someone hands him a bottle of vodka that appears to have been stolen. "I ain't doing s-t, bro". He has since been criticized for his alleged involvement in the activity, which people accuse him of looting the mall while the Americans protest.

Written over the video is the message: "America is in ruins". Look at them pointing guns at me, ' Paul said.

"Jake Paul is using protests against the oppression and murder of black people for attention".

Footage then cuts to Paul and group of friends inside the mall as looters break into stores. "We spent the day doing our part to peacefully protest one of the most horrific injustices our country has ever seen".

"To be absolutely clear, neither I nor anyone in our group was engaged in any looting or vandalism", Paul wrote.

Musician Lauren Sanderson wrote: "to the jake paul's of the world, those EMBODYING white privilege, publicly victimizing themselves for being tear gassed yet showing up with vlog cameras only to loot and trash the city is beyond unacceptable. if you're not coming to fight for black lives, don't come at all". We filmed everything we saw in an effort to share our experience and bring more attention to the anger felt in every neighborhood we traveled through; we were strictly documenting, not engaging'.

Blue also denied the allegations against him and Paul in a statement released Saturday afternoon. He added, "I do not condone violence, looting, or breaking the law".
