Barbra Streisand gifts George Floyd's daughter Disney shares”

American singer Barbra Streisand has made George Floyd's daughter, Gianna, a Disney stockholder, according to USA Today.

The 10-time Grammy victor has purchased Disney shares for Gianna Floyd, who is 6 years old.

Representatives for Streisand confirmed to the Guardian that she had sent Floyd the shares, as well as videos of two television specials, 1965's My Name is Barbra and Color Me Barbra (1966). CNBC reported in February that a $1,000 investment in Disney 10 years ago would now be worth more than $4,600, with a total return of approximately 370 percent.

Gianna has been showered with support since her father's death.

Whether it was one share of stock or many was not addressed.

Gianna Floyd, whose father died in police custody last month after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee on his neck for almost nine minutes, revealed on social media that she has been given stocks in the entertainment company by the Hollywood icon. She is the youngest of Floyd's five children. Texas Southern University also offered her a full-ride scholarship if she chooses to attend the school in the future.

In addition, the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, the first established in the United States for black women, offered Gianna, as well as Floyd's grandchildren Taleiaha and Journi, a full scholarship to attend a historically black college and university of their choosing. Kanye West also set up a college fund for Gianna's university tuition, as part of his $2 million donation to support the Floyd, Arbery and Taylor families who have all lost a relative to police brutality.
