Spongebob Squarepants Confirmed To Be Gay By Nickelodeon

Spongebob Squarepants Confirmed To Be Gay By Nickelodeon”

Nickelodeon has sent fans into a frenzy over a tweet that brings into question SpongeBob SquarePants' sexual orientation. Along with Spongebob, those characters included Avatar Korra from "The Legend of Korra" and Michael D. Cohen from "Henry Danger".

Fans have known for a while Korra was gay/bisexual - as it was revealed in the show itself and actually written into the script.

SpongeBob SquarePants' sexuality has entered the 2020 chat and it seems everyone desperately needed a distraction from the indelible horrors of coronavirus as thousands of Twitter users came to celebrate the yellow square's coming out party.

While countless ace folk revelled at the network showing that asexuals are a part of the LGBT+ community.

The show has aired on the network since 1999.

"You can celebrate it, embrace it, accept it, get over it, or whatever you feel the need to do, but there is no denying it", Konietzko wrote.

That tweet now has social media buzzing about Spongebob Squarepants' sexual orientation.

"For the record since "SPONGEBOB IS GAY" is trending off that Nickelodeon Tweet, this is a quote from Hillenberg himself: 'We never intended them to be gay". "I always think of [the characters] as being somewhat asexual", Hillenburg said at the time. "We're just trying to be amusing and this has nothing to do with the show".

Schwoz, on the other hand, is a transgender man in real life who transitioned from womanhood many years back.

SpongeBob's sexuality has been a topic of discussion for many years now and certain episodes have probably contributed to the speculation.
