Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite Postponed Following Star Wars Celebration Cancellation

Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite Postponed Following Star Wars Celebration Cancellation”

After hoping for the best, Lucasfilm has given into the inevitable.

In light of the recent cancelation of Star Wars Celebration, we are making the decision to postpone Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite event to a later date.

Though the world seems to finally be getting a grip on fighting the coronavirus pandemic, many festivals are still choosing to play it on the safe side and cancel this year's festivities, with this year's Star Wars Celebration now joining the list. For the sake of public safety, that's no longer happening. First established in April 1999, when "The Phantom Menace" was set to become the first "Star Wars" film to hit theaters in 16 years, Lucasfilm initially launched Star Wars Celebration to stoke fan fires.

The organizers announced Monday that the event, which had been scheduled to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in August, has been canceled due to ongoing concerns related to the coronavirus crisis.

How do you feel about the cancellation of this year's Star Wars Celebration? As it happens, fans who've purchased tickets can request a refund or have their tickets transferred to the next Star Wars Celebration. As a token of our appreciation and to thank all Star Wars Celebration 2020 fans who choose to transfer their tickets to the 2022 show, we are excited to offer a free exclusive Star Wars Celebration stormtrooper character pin for all transferred tickets. Information on refunds can be found on the event's website.

Merchandise: If you pre-ordered merchandise you have the option to still receive your order, or you may request a refund. The merch planned for this year's celebration will soon be available online.

Hotel reservations made through the Star Wars Celebration housing portal will automatically be cancelled. The refund and transfer period will open on June 22 and run to August 26. Please keep in mind to adjust any additional travel arrangements you may have.
