Ford to introduce new Bronco on O.J. Simpson's birthday”

Ford Motor Company is bringing back the SUV infamously used as a getaway vehicle by O.J. Simpson - on the disgraced football star's 73rd birthday.

Simpson, who will turn 73 on July 9, was a passenger in the 1993 Bronco while his friend and former teammate Al Cowlings drove the SUV through Southern California on June 17, 1994.

In a move that was deemed "purely coincidental", Ford Motor Company recently revealed that the new Bronco will be unveiled to the public on July 9. Simpson is later arrested after a widely televised freeway chase in his white Ford Bronco.

The 60-mile, slow-speed chase played out on live TV as millions of people watched.

No, actually. The company confirmed on Monday the plan is a go.

2021 Ford Bronco debut set for July 9

But Ford says the timing was "purely coincidental".

"We're going to reveal Bronco just like we said we would on July 9", rep Mike Levine told the Detroit Free Press. And then Ford would have really needed to explain that unlikely occurrence. "Unfortunately, unless Ford changes the date, it will be the lede, or at least a reference point, in every Bronco debut story". "Like the Mustang and F-150, Ford Bronco is forever part of America's shared experience".

The Ford Bronco is finally making its comeback after being off the assembly line for 24 years.

Ford has kept most details about its Jeep Wrangler competitor secret, but it will be offered in two-door and four-door models with removable roofs and feature an independent front suspension. The Bronco-heading back into production for the first time since 1996-is nearly synonymous with the former football star and murder suspect, who fled from police in a white Bronco on June 17, 1994, after being charged with the murders of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
