The Minnesota Department of Health says nine more people died Wednesday bringing the total up to 1,406.

Marshall County is in the top eight counties in Iowa with the highest COVID-19 cases. This is the fewest hospitalizations the state has seen since April 26.

Minnesota health officials on Friday reiterated their concern about an uptick in COVID-19 cases among young people frequenting bars.

Note: According to MDH - "Because all data are preliminary, the change in number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not equal the newly reported cases or deaths". Ehresmann added that businesses and citizens should work to prevent the spread "so that even as we open up, we are not putting ourselves in a position to overwhelm the system we worked so hard to strengthen". Cases no longer needing isolation is up to 30,401 from 29,854. The number of recovered cases in the county has remained at 616.

As of Sunday, Minnesota health officials had administered almost 15,000 tests. As of June 25, the DOC had a population of 7,962 in the state's prisons down from about 8,900 on March 1, 2020.
