Jamal Adams Rips Jets Head Coach Adam Gase, He Ain't A Leader!”

One week before National Football League players are scheduled to report for training camp, tensions between the New York Jets and Jamal Adams don't appear to be fizzling out.

In June, it was reported by ESPN that Jamal Adams wanted to be traded as a result of his frustration with the team's negotiations for a long-term contract.

In an article published Friday, Adams told the New York Daily News that he doesn't believe that Gase is the right fit for the Jets and his coaching style is not something that he can get behind.

"I don't feel like he's the right leader for this organization to reach the Promised Land", Adams told the Daily News. "As a leader, what really bothers me is that he doesn't have a relationship with everybody in the building". Adams earned second-team AP All-Pro honors in 2018, and was a first-team selection in 2019, and has also been a Pro-Bowler each of the past two years.

"If we're playing sh*tty and we're losing", Adams said, "he doesn't address the entire team as a group at halftime. He'll walk out of the locker room and let another coach handle it". The safety says the team just... basically ignored him.

Last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers took advantage of a franchise in turmoil and a player looking for a change when they traded their 2020 first-round pick for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

While Adams is being traded, he's not going to his dream destination.

From there, it looked like it was still possible for Adams and the Jets to agree to a deal that would make him the NFL's highest-paid safety. "I would say, 'You know what?"

"It's definitely mixed feelings", Adams said of his rocky relationship with the Jets. I respect it. As a man, I get it. "You don't have to BS me, because I'm going to keep it honest". Either you accept me for who I am and you work with me and support me or you don't.

One of the best defensive backs in the NFL, Adams has always been rumoured to be dissatisfied with his situation in the Big Apple and trade rumours have surrounded the 24-year-old since his sophomore season.
