Lawsuits filed against Trump over order excluding illegal immigrants from district redrawing

Lawsuits filed against Trump over order excluding illegal immigrants from district redrawing”

NEW YORK, July 25 ― A coalition of 35 USA states, cities and counties sued President Donald Trump yesterday over his directive not to count undocumented immigrants when apportioning seats for the House of Representatives, a move that critics have said is created to help Republicans.

"Jim has personified the greatness of this country throughout his life, whether he was running on a track race or whether he was doing anything he was, running an office or running for office", Trump said in the ceremony, via USA Today.

On this occasion, Trump said that one order would allow legal import of cheap medicines from countries like Canada, while another order would give exemption from pharmaceutical companies, which would pass through intermediaries to patients.

Another measure seeks to lower insulin costs while a fourth, which might not need to be implemented if talks with drug companies are successful, would require Medicare to purchase drugs at the same price that other countries pay, Trump said.

Drug company executives are scheduled to meet at the White House on Tuesday. Just because Trump signed the orders on Friday, CNBC reports it could be months before the administration finalizes them.

"We believe they are likely geared more towards deriving campaign talking points rather than producing tangible, material effects", Brian Abrahams, a biotech analyst at RBC Capital Markets, said in a note.

But Americans shouldn't expect to see the cost of a prescription drug drop immediately.

Numerous administration's past efforts to cut drug prices, including its plan to force insurers and other health care payers to pass rebates on to patients, have stalled amid industry pushback. In America, Americans will have to pay less money to buy medicines prescribed by the doctor.

Trump, under fire for surging coronavirus cases in the United States and beset by decreasing poll numbers ahead of November 3 elections, had previously asked Congress to rein in drug costs. There is a rebate system in place where drugmakers award discounts to pharmacy benefit managers, often in exchange for more favorable insurance coverage for their drugs.

US District Judge Amit Mehta of the District of Columbia vacated the Department of Health and Human Services' rule that would have required drug makers to include their list prices in TV ads, saying the agency had overstepped its authority.
