The legendary TV host, actor, and singer, Regis Philbin, passed away today at the age of 88, according to TMZ. People reported the passing, and spoke with his family exclusively.

He was the longtime host of "Live!" However, his biggest break would come in 1985 when he was paired with Kathie Lee Johnson (eventually Gifford) for The Morning Show. "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" may be for what he is most-known in the game show industry but "The Neighbors", "Almost Anything Goes" and "America's Got Talent" all had Philbin's finger prints on them, too.

Regis hosted Live! With Regis and Kelly from 1988 to 2011 and holds a Guiness World Record for most hours on U.S. television. He got his own local talk show in San Diego, starting in 1961, then moved up to the network television level as Joey Bishop's sidekick on "The Joey Bishop Show" in 1967. Soon after gaining more success, Philbin moved to NY and became the host of The Morning Show, which was renamed Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee three years later.
